Update on Apfelhammer.de - Bashblog with webmention and isso comments
So, this post is an update to my "weblog engine" Bashblog. This is a Shellscript
wich renders my weblog in static html files, like all the other static website
generators like Jekyll or Pelikan or you name it do. But there is a difference:
for bb.sh you only need the standard linux tools like awk, sed etc. pp., and
this works with a nice css file out of the box really good.
My Weblog apfelhammer.de with Webmention and ISSO comments
Hello World Again - Apfelhammer.de back online
I am back - because my internet provider (Pÿur) cut off my home server connection (it is this ipv4 ipv6 thing) from one day to another without getting me informed, my websites were all down. So I moved to another server but I find it really overbloated to host such a small bunch of html websites on a big hoster.
Now, I am back but ISSO is not working and maybe other things are also broken.
Bye, Jan
Footnote [1] Pyur uses a DS-lite procedure for its customers, in which no public IPv4 address is assigned to conserve scarce (lol) IPv4 addresses and facilitate the transition to IPv6. Private customers thus receive a dynamic IP address via a shared IPv4 pool and share this access with other users.

ISSO Comments with Bashblog
Comments belongs to the website. So I newly established this weblog and I am a great fan of comments. Because were is the place to talk about a topic? Directly under the topic, right. I now publish with a simple Shell-Script (Bashblog) and there is no commenting system built in, the author helped out with integrating Disqus, which is known for being a wideley used commenting hoster.
And there is the point to talk: I think comments belong to the commenters and to the website were the comments are said, but definitely comments are no big data and therefore should not be outsourced to a third-party company like disqus is.
And here is the point were isso enters the game. Isso is a commenting server similar to Disqus, but were you host your own data at yourself, on your own server, here at apfelhammer.de
And now I integrated it into my bashblog.
And it is up and running now.
So please feel free to comment:
- no name needed
- no email needed
- just your input
But because of this, everytime someone is commenting, I'll get an email and have to moderate the comment. So when you comment, it could take a while, that's because I am lazy sometimes :-)
Thank you, Jan
Second Post
The rest of the text file is a Markdown blog post. The process will continue as soon as you exit your editor. It works like charme, like a big software solution but it is only shell scritpting with standard unix tools. amazing!
